  • 2015 International Printed Circuit & APEX South China FairWorld’s Largest PCB & EA Show Marks Another Great Year of Expansion

(Hong Kong, 14 December 2015) The International Printed Circuit & APEX South China Fair 2015 (HKPCA & IPC Show) marked another remarkable milestone in its 14-year history of success during its recent run from 2-4 December at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center, China. This year’s show, the largest ever, took up Hall 4 of the Convention Centre in addition to Halls 1 and 2. The expanded floor area of 51,000 sq.m. accommodated 2,378 booths from 531 exhibitors – all these figures breaking the record for every previous show, and firmly establishing the Fair’s status as the largest trade show in the entire world for the Printed Circuit Board and Electronic Assembly industry, attracting a record 40,919 visits over the 3 days of the show.

Fair Has Become a Global Phenomenon

Since it was first staged in 2002, the Fair, jointly organized by the Hong Kong Printed Circuit Association (HKPCA), Association Connecting Electronics Industries (IPC), and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangzhou Sub-council (CCPIT-GZ), has grown year by year and evolved from a modest regional event into the PCB industry’s premier international platform for networking, information exchange, education, and keeping up with market trends and the latest innovations. This year’s theme “Global Event. Global Vision” recognizes this impressive transformation.

Exhibitors Welcome the Show as the Ideal Showcase for their Offerings

Exhibitors at the show ranged from most of the industry’s leading players, who return year after year, to first-timers with innovative new concepts to promote. All of them find the show, which attracts many buyers from every sector of the market, offers an ideal trading platform for showcasing their products and services. Mr. Gilbert Siaw, Deputy Managing Director of Hitachi Chemical (China) Co., Ltd., described the show as “an excellent platform for Hitachi Chemical to show our strength to others and to promote our products to different people, especially to new clients. We successfully extend our brand name to 2nd tier or even 3rd tier districts or regions through the HKPCA & IPC Show every year. The timing is also good – as the show opens in December every year, it is a very good channel for us to promote our business & products of the coming year in advance. We can make use of this platform as the opening of our next year’s business cycle.”

Buyers Welcome the Great Variety of Exhibits

Buyers were equally impressed by the show, which enabled them to experience the latest market innovations all in one place. Mr. Manfred Ludwig, Director – Operations China of Gardien (Kunshan) Co. Ltd., found the show “unexpectedly large”, commenting: “There are so many exhibitors and many visitors – it is a huge increase from last year. I only arranged one day for my visit, which was clearly not sufficient as I didn’t realize the show scale is so big.” Mr. Ludwig was pleased with the range of products on display: “There are many new products showcased in this year’s fair, and I observe an emphasis on Flex products. It is very useful for me to learn about the market trend and technology direction – I can gather general product Information and find out what technology is currently important. I will absolutely recommend the show to others.”

Appreciation for the Fair’s Accompanying Events

Visitors to the Fair also expressed appreciation of the comprehensive program of accompanying events. New this year was the 3-day 2015 PCB GIGA (Global Information and Green Assembly) Conference, at which global experts and industry leaders shared their knowledge and insights on key developments shaping the PCB industry, such as environmental protection and energy conservation, intelligent automation, and future market trends. Together with the on-site Technical Forum, these two excellent learning opportunities attracted close to 2,500 attendees who are eager to acquire new wisdom and intelligence in the industry. Also new this year, the Smart Automation Pavilion and PCB Smart Automation Development Showcase demonstrated how automated equipment can improve production efficiency and reduce labor costs, while the Green Pavilion offer the industry green solutions for waste management, environmental protection and energy saving.

Regular features of the Fair were also as popular as ever.  In addition to the highly regarded Technical Forum, the HKPCA & IPC Show Hand Soldering Competition was again a hit, as visitors witnessed the birth of China Champion who will compete in the world championship in USA. And to give visitors a break from their busy visit schedule, another new feature, the Interactive Activity Avenue, offered them a creative array of entertaining performances and games. Visitors could also benefit from the event’s unequalled networking opportunities, enabling them to generate valuable new contacts with their industry counterparts.

The Global Vision Grows Wider in 2016

The Fair’s global status is again reflected in the theme of the International Printed Circuit & APEX South China Fair 2016, “Global Wisdom Shaping the Future”, which also recognizes the ways in which the event is helping to shape the industry’s future development, particularly through education and the building of business relationships.
