2009 International Printed Circuit & Electronics Assembly Fair
Presents the International Technical Conference for Closer Industry Collaboration

(Hong Kong, 8 October 2009) The 2009 International Printed Circuit & Electronics Assembly Fair (2009 HKPCA & IPC Show) will be held at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center, China, from 2 to 4 December 2009 with the theme "Join Hands Leap Ahead." Jointly organized by the Hong Kong Printed Circuit Association (HKPCA), the Association Connecting Electronics Industries (IPC) and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangzhou Sub-Council (CCPIT-GZ), this year’s show will focus on helping the PCB industry to deal with the current market uncertainty through closer co-operation.

Major PCB Customers to Address the International Technical Conference
In support of this objective, the International Technical Conference to be held concurrently with the Fair will emphasize the three keys to the success of the PCB industry – Market, Technology and Collaboration. It will feature a number of global procurement leaders representing major downstream customers in the electronics industry. Speaking at the "Marketing Track – Customer Perspective" session, they will present the requirements and expectations of key electronics brands to assist attendees in meeting current and future market demands. The aim is to help the industry through this difficult time and enable suppliers to position themselves for the expected market rebound.

The "Marketing Track – Customer Perspective" was first introduced in 2008 with overwhelming positive feedback. The Fair Organizers will again work with the Institute for Supply Management, Hong Kong (ISM HK) this year to provide useful information covering several major industry sectors: mobile phones, contract manufacturing, automobiles, personal computers, consumer electronics and IT sever infrastructure. Other Conference presentations will feature leading industry suppliers and technical experts discussing market trends and strategies; as well as technical updates on the latest technological developments to give industry practitioners a comprehensive educational opportunity to improve their production expertise.

Ms. Ivy Wong, Chairman of the HKPCA, commented that: "With the industry having suffered from the economic downturn since the fourth quarter of 2008, the opportunity to learn from renowned speakers and from each other will benefit all those attending the show. Through a series of interactive discussions, the Conference aims to link up industry participants throughout the supply chain, encourage cross-fertilization of ideas, and generate new business opportunities. With consumer electronics sales now showing signs of recovery, this will help the PCB industry to prepare for the brighter future ahead."

Show Set for Another Successful Year
Since its debut in 2002, the Fair has played a significant role in bringing together decision makers in the PCB industry, making it the flagship PCB and EA trade show for sourcing and technology exchange in Southern China. As of early September, the show recruited close to 300 exhibitors, with the numbers of booths exceeding 900. Well-known brands represented in the 2009 show will include: Atotech, C Sun, Elec & Eltek, Han’s, Hitachi Via, Jadason, Kingboard, Meadville, Multek, Dow Electronic Materials (Formerly Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials), Techwise, Vega, WKK, World Wide, ZENHO and many more.

IPC Chairman Mr. Denny McGuirk remarked that: "It is very encouraging to have the industry's support for the show's objective of enhancing co-operation between industry players. In the current climate of economic uncertainty, this year's Fair will play a vital part in fostering closer collaboration within the industry, exemplifying the theme of 'Join Hands Leap Ahead' by building new strategic partnerships and seizing business opportunities together."

More Opportunities for Industry Cooperation
In addition to the International Technical Conference, visitors will enjoy many other opportunities for learning and networking during the show. At the On-Site Forum exhibitors will unveil their latest R&D achievements and product solutions, while social activities like the Welcome Cocktail and Golf Tournament offer additional opportunities for closer industry linkage.
